Exotropia
Exotropia is an outward turning of the eyes. It often begins as an intermittent misalignment and is commonly noted initially when looking at distant objects or during periods of inattention or fatigue.
Exotropia can sometimes be managed with glasses, eye exercises, patching, or prisms. However, these are often temporary measures and the exotropia may return when these treatments are discontinued. Surgery is usually the definitive treatment in these cases.
